Ryan Hazelton (Emeritus)

Ryan grew up in San Diego, arriving in San Francisco over 13 years ago in pursuit of work in the tech sector. After a few years, he decided to leave the tech sector and dive into nonprofit fundraising. Since then, Ryan has followed his passion for creating healthy childhoods through professional and volunteer work in fundraising and nonprofit governance. Previous work includes fundraising for Holy Family Day Home, a nonprofit preschool in San Francisco that provides low-income and homeless families with early childhood education and family support services, and for Safe & Sound, a San Francisco based children’s advocacy organization focused on child abuse prevention. In 2021, Ryan is serving as Interim Development Director at Gateway Public Schools, a nonprofit public charter middle and high school in San Francisco.

 

Ryan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of California, San Diego. He most recently completed a term of service as the Vice President of the Board of Education at the Thomas Edison Charter Academy, was a 2019 Fellow of the New Leaders Council, and currently sits on the Board of Directors at Tandem, Partners in Early Learning.
