English Learner Advisory Committee
The purpose of the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is to educate the parents of English learners about the programs at TECA that serve English learners. It also provides an opportunity for enhancing the partnership between the school and the parents of English learners.
We welcome the help of anyone interested in English Language Learner (ELL) education. We invite parents of English learners at our school to participate as members of an advisory group to:
- advise, review, and comment on the development of the school’s programs for English learners at the school site, including the expenditure of Title III and EIA funds;
- assist in the development of the Needs Assessment Document for English learners, resulting in a written plan that assesses their needs; and
- promote among parents the importance of regular student attendance at school.
TECA offers this website as a resource for English Learner students that includes online programs, assessments, and recommendations for supporting English Learner students at home.
